Pick your style

Six ways to build a wood fence.

Same cedar, same posts, very different characters. Here is what each style is actually for, so you pick with your eyes open.

Board-on-board

Overlapping pickets, zero gaps.

Boards overlap so the fence stays private even as wood dries and shrinks. Looks finished from both sides, yours and the neighbor’s.

The extra lumber costs more than side-by-side. Privacy that survives dry summers is what you’re paying for.

Cap & trim

A finished top that works.

A horizontal cap board with trim closes the picket tops, the tailored look you see in design magazines.

Not just cosmetic: the cap sheds rain off the end-grain, where pickets rot first.

Horizontal

Modern lines, level runs.

Boards run sideways for a clean, contemporary face that makes a yard feel wider.

Needs straighter, clearer boards and tighter post spacing, honest money for an honest look. Happiest on level ground.

Privacy (side-by-side)

The classic, done right.

Pickets set edge to edge, the most fence for the money when full privacy is the point.

Small gaps appear as boards season. If that would bother you, board-on-board is the answer.

Picket

Front yards, framed.

Knee-to-waist height with space between pickets, keeps kids and dogs in without hiding the house.

It marks the yard, it doesn’t secure it. Charm first, and it delivers.

Good-neighbor

Same face, both sides.

Pickets alternate on either side of the rail, so neither yard gets the “back” of the fence, and air moves through.

Angled sightlines peek through. Full privacy it is not, fairness it is.

Questions, answered

Do you charge for estimates?+
No. Written estimates for new lines, repairs, gates and commercial work are always free, we visit, measure, talk through materials and fence lines, and email you a clear, itemized quote with no obligation.
How soon can you start?+
Most estimates go out within a day, and typical projects are scheduled within one to two weeks. For urgent rebuilds, before a move, a sale or an event, just tell us the date and we'll do our best to fit you in.
What does "free estimates" mean?+
Before any work begins, we give you one clear quote to approve, prep, materials and labor included. No hourly meter, no surprise add-ons at the end. You always decide before we start.
Will you protect the yard while you work?+
Yes. Plywood paths where loads roll, plants flagged and fenced off, concrete mixed on boards, and a magnet sweep for fasteners at every cleanup.
What happens to the debris?+
Old fencing, spoil and packaging leave with us the same day. No pile on your lawn waiting for a second truck.
Is the work guaranteed?+
Yes, in writing, workmanship warrantied and posts guaranteed plumb. If a gate we hung sags, we come back first and free.

Let's give your yard a fence that lasts.
