What we do

One crew for your whole property line.

From a single gate to a full perimeter rebuild, prep, build and protect, all under one roof. Every service below carries the same quality promise.

Choosing right

Which fence is your fence?

Every material is the right answer to a different question. Here is the honest version, the same one you’d hear standing in your yard.

Cedar

Warm, classic, real wood.

Upkeep
Stain or seal every 2–3 years
Life
15–20+ years, maintained
Best for
Privacy with character

Skip the upkeep and it greys and wears early. We’ll say so.

Vinyl

Clean lines, never stained.

Upkeep
A rinse. That’s the list.
Life
25–30 years
Best for
Set-and-forget privacy

A hard hit can crack a panel, panels swap clean, posts stay.

Aluminum

Keeps the view, skips the rust.

Upkeep
None to speak of
Life
30+ years, powder-coated
Best for
Pools, slopes, front yards

It marks the line, it doesn’t hide the yard. Not a privacy fence.

Chain link

The toughest dollar in fencing.

Upkeep
None, galvanized
Life
Decades
Best for
Kids, dogs, budgets

Function first. Slats add privacy, paint adds looks, honesty included.

Not sure? Tell us what the fence is for, we’ll tell you straight which material earns it, even when it’s the cheaper one.

Straight pricing

One number. In writing. It doesn’t move.

No hourly meter, no surprise line items, no “while we’re at it”. You approve one clear quote before the first post is set, so you know the cost up front.

Signed & guaranteed

The number lands in writing with a one-year workmanship warranty. If it isn’t right, we make it right.

The breakdown

What moves the number.

No mystery math. Four things decide what a fence costs, and we walk every one with you before the quote lands.

Length & layoutTotal footage, plus every corner and gate. More corners and gates mean more posts and hardware, so the shape of the run matters as much as its length.
Material & heightCedar, vinyl, aluminum, steel or chain link, and how tall you go. The material sets the post size and the labor as much as the sticker.
Ground & accessWhat sits under the soil, rock, roots and old footings, and how easily we reach the line. Hand-digging and tight backyard access take longer, priced plainly.
The line as we find itSlope, drainage and hauling an old fence away. A level, clear run is quick; a graded or overgrown one is more work, and we say so up front.

Whatever the mix, you get one clear quote, in writing, before any work starts.

What a serious quote includes, ours or anyone’s:
  • Footage, corners and every gate, itemized
  • Material and height, named exactly
  • Post depth and how they’re set
  • Old fence haul-away: in or out, stated
  • A start window you can plan around
  • Warranty terms, in writing
If a quote skips these, ask why, whoever wrote it.

Cedar privacy fence
Woodstock·3 days

140 feet of 6-foot western red cedar, dog-ear boards run tight to the line. Posts set two feet deep in concrete, rails on the level, one walk-gate hung on a steel frame.

Pool-code aluminum, gated
Laurelhurst·2 days

54-inch powder-coated aluminum around the pool, picket spacing to code. Self-closing, self-latching gate with the latch mounted high on the inside so it passes inspection first time.

Sagging gate rebuild
Sellwood·3 hours

Old cedar gate had dropped and dragged the walk. Rebuilt it on a welded steel frame with an anti-sag cable, reset the hinge post plumb, and it latches soft on its own now.

Where we work

Proudly serving the Portland metro

A lot of our work comes from a neighbor who watched us build the house next door. If you're in the metro, we're just around the corner.

Around here that means wet winters, clay that swells, and roots everywhere — the reason posts get set below the frost line, in concrete crowned to shed water.

How it goes

From first call to done.

No mystery in the middle. This is the path the job actually takes, start to finish.

01
The walkthroughwithin a few days

We walk the property line with you, tape measure and spray paint in hand, marking every post and gate. You tell us what the fence is for, privacy, dogs, pool code, and we flag anything that changes the plan like slope, tree roots, or a shared line with a neighbor.

02
Quote lands in writingwithin 48 hours

You get a clear quote on paper, itemized by material, linear footage, gates, and concrete, with no line reading to be determined. The price we write is the price you pay, and it holds even if we hit hard clay or an old buried footing.

03
Locates and permits1-2 weeks out

We file the permit with the city and call 811 so the utility locates are marked before anyone digs. You do not chase paperwork, we hand you the approved permit number for your records.

04
Build weekday of the job

The crew sets posts in concrete first and lets them cure, then hangs panels and pickets to a string line so the run stays dead straight. Same foreman is on site every day, and we protect your beds and irrigation lines while we work.

05
Walk it and sign offbefore we leave

We walk the finished line together, swing every gate, and check each latch and post while you watch. You get the written workmanship warranty in your hand, all offcuts and old fence hauled off, and the ground raked clean before the truck pulls out.

2We handle the technical part

3You keep working

The site runs, we maintain it, and changes are one email away. You never touch hosting, passwords or settings.

Cedar stock on the racksThe racks
Stocked & staffed

The wood is here before we quote it.

Cedar, posts and hardware live on our own racks in Portland, not on a supplier’s truck schedule. When your build date lands, nothing waits on a delivery.

Before you hire anyone

Five questions for every fence contractor.

Including us. Ask these on the first call and the pros sort themselves from the rest inside five minutes.

01How deep do the posts go, and in what?

The whole fence lives or dies here. A good answer names a depth, mentions your frost line, and says concrete without being asked.

02Is everything on one written quote?

Footage, gates, haul-away, timeline, warranty, one page you can hold them to. “We’ll sort it as we go” is how surprises get invoiced.

03Who calls in utility locates before digging?

Someone must, every time, before any post hole. A pro answers instantly. Hesitation here is a real warning sign.

04What happens if something’s wrong next year?

Listen for warranty terms with a number in them, not “we stand behind our work”. Then get that number in writing.

05Can I see work from my own neighborhood?

Recent, local and specific beats a glossy portfolio. Streets you know, seasons it has already survived.

Bring this list to the estimate. We’ll answer all five before you ask.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Getting started
Do you charge for estimates?+
No. Written estimates for new lines, repairs, gates and commercial work are always free, we visit, measure, talk through materials and fence lines, and email you a clear, itemized quote with no obligation.
How soon can you start?+
Most estimates go out within a day, and typical projects are scheduled within one to two weeks. For urgent rebuilds, before a move, a sale or an event, just tell us the date and we'll do our best to fit you in.
What does “free estimates” mean?+
Before any work begins, we give you one clear quote to approve, prep, materials and labor included. No hourly meter, no surprise add-ons at the end. You always decide before we start.
What should I do before the crew arrives?+
Know roughly where your property pins are, we locate and confirm, and give neighbors a heads-up if the line is shared. Utility locates are on us, we call them in before any digging.
Do I need my neighbor's sign-off?+
On a shared line it is wise, and often they will share the cost. We provide a written quote you can show them, and we build from your side without trampling theirs.
Can you give a price over the phone?+
A fair range from your measurements and photos, yes. The quote lands after the free estimate, in writing, before any digging starts.
What actually happens during the estimate?+
We locate pins, check grades and drainage, talk through heights and materials at the spots that matter, and measure everything, fifteen minutes, then a plain-English quote.
Materials & the build
What materials do you install?+
Clear western red cedar, heavy-wall vinyl, powder-coated aluminum and steel, and commercial chain link, each quoted honestly for your use, not our margin.
What about my dog during the build?+
Tell us and we plan the sequence so the yard is never open overnight, temporary panels close gaps while posts cure.
Can you build on a slope?+
Yes, stepped panels for a crisp look or racked rails that follow the grade with no gaps underneath, we recommend per section, not one-size.
How long does a fence take?+
Posts one day, cure, panels and gates the next visit, most homes are done inside a week from first dig, weather willing, and you will know the plan up front.
Which material fits my yard?+
Tap through the Material Studio above, cedar, vinyl white, matte black steel, and the whole page wears each tone. Bring your favorite to the estimate.
Will you haul the old fence away?+
Same day it comes down, hauled and recycled where the material allows. The yard is raked and magnet-swept before we leave.
Weather, durability & guarantee
How deep do posts really need to go?+
Below frost line, a third of the post in the ground as a rule, set in concrete crowned to shed water. It is the single biggest difference between fences that last and fences that lean.
Why do fences lean after a few winters?+
Shallow posts, no concrete, or concrete poured flat so water pools at the wood. All three are corner-cutting, and all three are invisible on day one. We do none of them.
Do you handle permits and utility locates?+
Both. Utility locates before every dig, and where heights or corners need a permit, we pull it and meet the inspector.
Is the Care Plan worth it?+
For most homes, yes: an annual inspection, free scuff and touch-up visits, priority scheduling, and 15% off future projects typically pay for the membership the first time you use it, and keep every finish looking new.
